Shell Island Fish Camp Update - May 7, 2010
Hello friends and fisherman,
I am falling down on my job. When the fish started biting and business picked up, I forgot all about what I promised - that y'all would be the first to know. I'm sorry! The water temperature is perfect right now. Trout, mackerel, blue fish, cobia and even catfish are tearing it. Live shrimp as well as artificial (gulps) are doing good. West flats in 4 to 6 feet of water is best. Down east is also good but why miss out on 45 minutes to an hour of fishing riding down east. Also the west has no rocks!
The Spike Williams group from Macon was down. Even with the wind they caught enough for a fish fry and plenty to take home. Everyone had a wonderful time together. Gary Wall and family were down fishing 2 days with guides and did real well. Woody Jones group was down and caught good. Paul and Michael Reynolds were down with a group fishing without guides and they caught good. Hugh Whittley group had fine catches.
I do believe that now is the time to come fishing. May and June are going to be good. Give us a call for more details.
So until next time . Tight line and good fishing.
Allen
