Dear [FIRSTNAME],

Shell Island Fish Camp News: December 31, 2009

Hello friends and fellow fishermen.  As we come to the close of 2009, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your business and most of all your friendship.  We here at Shell Island hope we can continue this relationship with y'all for a long time to come.

Now that's out of the way, let's talk fishing.  Out of all the years I've been here the last 2 weeks has had the best fishing I have ever seen.  Everyone who has fished has said it's better than they have ever seen it.  The only problem is that the catchin has been pitiful.  No kidding I could have eaten all the fish that have been kept at one sitting.  Fishing was good until all this rain fell (over 10 inches in a week and a half).  When all that fresh water hit the river, it ran the fish, reds and trout, out.  Where, I don't know.  All I do know is they are gone.  A few drum and sheephead are being caught but that's it.

So all I can say is y'all save your money until spring and then come on down.  When the water temperature hits 67 degrees, the fish will show up on the flats.  We have a long wait to go and it can't come too soon for me.  Believe me , I'll make sure when it happens, y'all will be the first to know.

Ready or not 2010 is on it's way.  Everyone at Shell Island wishes you a happy and prosperous new year.

Until next time.

Tight lines and good fishing,

Allen
